Facade
First off, the install time on this game was far too long. Not really worth the time waiting to get to play the game in the first place. I mean, half an hour just to decompress audio files? Really?
Let’s get into it anyhow. I enjoyed the intro, setting up the story with just a black screen and someone calling the player on the phone to invite the player over for a visit. The player is then treated with a very odd camera pull-back effect, pulling away from the two characters of the game, Trip and Grace. Just when the player thinks they can start playing the game, the player is forced to choose a name from a list (which didn’t include my own name, so I picked funny names such as Walter and Kaa).
There were a few glitches throughout the game. Some examples include Trip walking through the wall into the kitchen and Grace blinking very quickly. The first time I played this game I tired to be polite but wound up getting kicked out when I told Trip and Grace to kiss. The second time I played I was just evil and got kicked out in record time. The third time I played, I made it to “the end.” Trip and Grace remember every one of the player’s answers to their questions throughout the game. At least they thanked me for helping them with their problems. I really wish I could find the command that allowed me to throw a grenade into their apartment as I left. I had to settle for uninstalling the game and erasing Trip and Grace from my life for good. Although, they are so annoying that there is no doubt they will find a way to fill my head with nonsense again.
