Shift: A Tricky Game

Dec 9, 2013 by

Shift is a game where you press shift and use the arrow keys to move through the door which leads you to the next level. In this game, the term “Shifting” is defined as turning the world upside down or right side up, in order to find your way to the door.

Like all games, this game does have a goal, which is to complete all levels. Because there are time limits and the doors are locked, you must find the keys first before you get to the door.

This game uses the colors black and white to represent the ground and the sky. (The color black represents the ground and the white color represents the sky.) However, when you “shift”, it becomes vice versa.

As you progress in the game, the levels become much harder. You feel as though you are trapped and there are no ways to move around. You become surrounded by high levels of the ground which you cannot jump over. This case, you must shift multiple times in order to find the right way to the door.

This game can be challenging because you are deceived by what you see. It is difficult when you shift multiple times because your mind always tries to see the world right side up instead of upside down. This is because as a child we learn to look at world in one way and look for the correct answer instead of the false one.

The creepy music and the low maintenance visual graphics of this game definitely add fun to the game and I personally really liked playing it.
